Research > Collaborative linkages PROGRAM > State linkage projects Research: Collaborative linkages State linkage projects The objective of this program is to engage state government agencies in the delivery of strategic research outcomes, in conjunction with CSIRO, Universities and other research providers. A total of $166,065 has been committed to the funding of 7 state linkages projects, to institutions such as the WA Museum, Department of Environment, Department of Conservation and Land Management, Department of Fisheries, and Murdoch University. Leaders from these projects have given presentations at SRFME symposia in June 2003 and 2004. Project descriptions: > Funding for the 12th International Marine Biological Workshop in Esperance, WA held in Feb 2003. > Establishing Reference and Monitoring Sites to Assess a Key Indicator of Ecosystem Health (seagrass health) on the Central West Coast of Western Australia > Baseline Biodiversity Monitoring in the Proposed Jurien Bay Marine Park – survey 3 > Funds to Facilitate Student Research Projects at the Abrolhos Islands: Assessing the Benefits of Closed Fishing Areas for Spawning Aggregations and Egg Production for Coral Trout > WA Marine Algae: Taxonomic Studies and Identification Guide > Publication of The Flora and Fauna of Esperance, WA > Supplemental Grant for Seagrass Responses to Light Availability
