SRFME: Marine research for Western Australia

The Strategic Research Fund for the Marine Environment (SRFME) was established as a joint venture by the Western Australian State Government and the CSIRO from 2001-2006. The purpose of SRFME was to build marine science knowledge, capability and capacity in Western Australia.

Results and Outcomes

The results and activities of SRFME have been documented in the final report which is available from this website.

The success of the SRFME project has lead to further investment by the WA state govenment through the Western Australian Marine Science Institution (WAMSI) which has since been formed. Through WAMSI, Western Australia's marine science capability and capactiy will be maintained and grown.
