SRFME Collaborative Research Projects
The other major component of the Collaborative Linkages Program
is the SRFME Collaborative Research Projects scheme which invested
about $2 million in projects which tackle interdisciplinary
research topics in a collaborative way and add to the realisation
of capacity building goals of SRFME by providing opportunities
for the appointment of Post-doctoral scientists.
Among the objectives of the SRFME Collaborative Research Projects
were to address the gaps in the SRFME Framework not addressed by
the Core SRFME Projects, leverage greater funding and research
capacity for the SRFME research portfolio and to strongly engage
with state and commonwealth research organisations, Western Australian
Universities and the private sector.
The total value of the SRFME Collaborative Research Projects is
about $4.3 million including coinvestment by SRFME, its collaborating
research partners and the private sector. Two SRFME Collaborative
Projects Symposia were held in June 2004 and March 2006. Some of
these projects are still ongoing and will finish in 2007. A description
of each project and its results [as at Dec 2006] are provided below.
